My Pre Wedding Photos

Last year December, me and Malar decided to have some pre wedding shots. We went to few shops to get the best deal. Finally, we found this shop My-Wedding.com which gave us a really reasonable deal. We took 2 outdoor shots and 1 in door shot. It involves of 5 different costumes and 6 friends of ours, who really made this event 'successful'.We started the shooting at 10 am and finished at 10pm heheh..very tiring but it's worth it,,here are the photos :-

You may look the full set of the pictures over here.

Noodle Station

Last week, me and Malar had lunch at Noodle Station , E-gate. Why we chose Noodle Station? Coz first both of us never tried their food before , second we have tried all other food outlets over there, such as Tao, Subway, Old Town .

The view was awesome, you can see the Penang bridge from here

Malar ordered Fish and Chips,,it was so flat

I had this lamb chop...the meat was so so,,but the brown sauce was so delicious.

I tried this almond iced coffee , I kind of liked it but Malar hates it!! hahaa, check out the video below

Chocolate Fudge Cake

Last weekend, my gf did a cake for me. The cake is called Chocolate Fudge Cake with white chocolate icing. It was soooooooo good!! I would like to share with you all on how to do this cake :D

Ingredients

For the cake :

400g plain flour

250g golden caster sugar

100g light muscovado sugar

50g best quality cocoa powder

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

3 eggs

142ml/small tub sour cream

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

175g unsalted butter, melted and cooled

125ml corn oil

300ml chilled water

For the fudge icing

200g white chocolate

250ml whipped cream

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Serving Size : Serves 10. Or 1 with a broken heart.

Method

1. Preheat the oven to 180°C/gas mark 4.

2. Butter and line the bottom of two 20cm sandwich tins.

3. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugars, cocoa, baking powder, bicarb and salt. In another bowl or wide-necked measuring jug whisk together the eggs, sour cream and vanilla until blended. Using a freestanding or handheld electric mixer, beat together the melted butter and corn oil until just blended (you’ll need another large bowl for this if using the hand whisk; the freestanding mixer comes with its own bowl), then beat in the water. Add the dry ingredients all at once and mix together on a slow speed. Add the egg mixture, and mix again until everything is blended and then pour into the prepared tins. And actually, you could easily do this manually; I just like my toys and find the KitchenAid a comforting presence in itself.

4. Bake the cakes for 50–55 minutes, or until a cake-tester comes out clean. Cool the cakes in their tins on a wire rack for 15 minutes, and then turn the cakes out onto the rack to cool completely.

5. To make the icing, melt the chocolate in the microwave – 2–3 minutes on medium should do it – or in a bowl sitting over a pan of simmering water, and let cool slightly.

6. In another bowl beat the butter until it’s soft and creamy (again, I use the KitchenAid here) and then add the sieved icing sugar and beat again until everything’s light and fluffy. I know sieving is a pain, the one job in the kitchen I really hate, but you have to do it or the icing will be unsoothingly lumpy. Then gently add the vanilla and chocolate and mix together until everything is glossy and smooth.

7. Sandwich the middle of the cake with about a quarter of the icing, and then ice the top and sides too, spreading and smoothing with a rubber spatula.

Special thanks to Malar,,thanks kutty!!!

Manila Place

Last month, I went out with Malar to have some decent dinner at Gurney. After scanning with our 'food eyes' at food street in Gurney, we decided go to Manila Place.

We thought, we could get some Philippine's food, but then we found out that they serve normal western food.

The waitress told me that Mutton Shank is the customers favourite over there. So, I ordered it while Malar ordered Bombay Chicken.

That's our sweet bun and drinks, Strawberry Shake and Cappuccino Shake

Good deal eh?

The logo :D

That's our main meal, yummyyyy

Malar is enjoying her drink, she did not give it to me at all, :( pity me

This is a bonus picture for this post hahaha,,we were walking around Gurney after our heavy meal to digest our food, and snapped this deco for Chinese New Year. ...Overall Manila Place is food was average and it's a bit expensive. My rating is 6/10 . Have a nice day
